Priscacara is an extinct fish from the Eocene. Fossils of these fish are commonly found in the Green River Formation in Wyoming but nevertheless is it one of the most collectible, species of this formation.
Pricacara of this size is rare. They varied in size with the P. liops the smaller species, never exceeding 150 mm, whereas the larger P. serrata has been found up to 375 mm. Priscacara means, “Primitive head”. This tough look is very present in this particular piece.
